Tijn Hazen (37) is a sound designer and re-recording mixer with his studio in the centre of Amsterdam. All aspects of sound design from sound editing up to pre-mixing, as well as ADR recording are under the same roof in a cultural warehouse which is hidden gem in the city. He has worked for over ten years with a dedicated team of talented colleagues. For the final mix, he collaborates in Amsterdam with the mixing stages Posta-Vermaas (Dolby Atmos), Westside Studios (7.1), and STMPD (Dolby Atmos Premium).
As a 2014 graduate of the Netherlands Film Academy, Tijn always keeps in mind; You don’t have to hear what you see and you don’t have to see what you hear. He approaches sound design and mixing with intuition, sensitivity, and has a strong musical sense and wants to be involved already in the script phase.
Since 2024, he has also been teaching part-time as a sound design teacher at the Netherlands Film Academy, because he considers education both vital and highly inspiring.
He is affiliated with the European Film Academy, the DAFF, and the DFSA.
